Ken Wilson

Ken P. Wilson, of Plano, Texas, is the Appraisal Institute’s current 2013 president-elect. He was after serving as the vice president of the organization in 2012. He will hold this position in 2014, and afterwards he will serve as the immediate past president in 2015. He is also a member of the Executive Committee and the policy-making Board of Directors.

After having worked for 12 years with two national appraisal firms, Wilson began his own firm, Wilson Realty Advisors, in Dallas.  He has worked a total of 30 years in the real estate appraisal business.

Wilson began his career in the early ’80s when he worked for the Appraisal Institute’s predecessor.  In 1995 he served for three years as chair of the North Texas Chapter’s Education Committee in 1995, while also serving on the chapter Board of Directors.

Wilson served in many positions during his time in the chapter. In 1998 he served as both the treasurer and finance chair, then served the following three years as secretary, vice president, and president.  During these years he also served on the Client Services Committee, then from 2001 to present he served on the General Appraiser Council Admissions Committee.  Many other areas he served on included the national Board of Directors, Strategic Planning Committee (2008-09) and National Association of Realtors Project Team (2009), Audit Committee chair, Candidate Member Proposal Project Team chair, and Appraisal Institute Education Trust (2011-13).

Wilson is a graduate of DePaul University and currently lives in Dalles with his wife and daughter.
